Data and data management is a significant part of the ORCHESTRA science programme. The majority of data for ORCHESTRA are managed by the British Oceanographic Data Centre (BODC), which is the national facility for looking after and distributing data concerning the marine environment. Additionally some data are held with Centre for Environmental Data Analysis (CEDA) and the Polar Data Centre (PDC).
BODC data are available here but for further information and other datasets please see links below:
- Submit data (details to be added)
- Download data (details to added)
- Data from RoSES cruises (details to be added)
All environmental data produced by NERC-funded activities are considered a public good. BODC shares a commitment to NERC to support:
- Management of data in an effective manner, including a data management plan
- Free, open and long-term availability of data
The NERC data policy outlines the details.
The majority of RoSES data are restricted to project members for a period of two years from collection, after which it becomes publicly available.
